OUR
STORY

Kindergarden

A dynamic and balanced program gives young children an ideal start.  Kindergarten provides a loving and joyful atmosphere in a structured and nurturing environment; a place where Jesus Christ is the center of every aspect of the program and young students continue with their adventures in life-long learning. A classroom is a dynamic place where children are involved in the learning process through a hands-on approach. Our full-day kindergarten offers an opportunity for little learners to discover knowledge through varied activities full of wonder, play, and the miracle of learning.

1st Grade

First grade is centered on literacy.  Even though most students’ language skills are just emerging, first grade has a rich literary environment.  Various methods of reading help promote fluency and confidence in the students.  In first grade, reading is taught through literacy centers and Guided Reading, allowing for consistent and daily differentiated instruction.  This allows each student to be reached at his or her level. This program has several different components: reading, writing, board work, spelling, and instruction time.  This program helps foster reading confidence in each student.

2nd Grade

In Second Grade students review all the sounds and then focus on word parts, prefixes, suffixes, and syllables.  They continue to use the SMART board, which is a hands-on magnetic board that the children use to manipulate new words.  The SMART board is a great avenue to understand phonics and build reading confidence.Math - Second grade uses a rigorous program that provides both hands-on and abstract learning of fundamental math concepts.  Word problems of various kinds are a daily practice, along with committing addition and subtraction facts to memory by using various games the children enjoy. We finish the year with the introduction of multiplication and division.

3rd Grade

Third grade is a year of growth academically, spiritually and physically as the students transition from the lower elementary program to the upper elementary program.  Third graders develop a "love for reading" through experiencing different genres of literature and utilizing them in learning settings within the classroom, such as presentations and projects.

4th Grade

In fourth grade, students have fun while they are learning through singing, acting, projects and activities. They also focus on organizing their school work and managing their time. Math - The math curriculum uses interactive teaching methods and materials to help students understand the mathematical concepts. It has consistent, cumulative review of the concepts taught and encourages memorization of math facts early in the students’ school
career.  The program encourages a strong development of problem-solving competence, and the pedagogical practices help to cultivate engaged, reflective learners. With a more constructivist approach, students can truly own their learning process, helping to make the important math concepts a permanent understanding.

5th Grade

Math - Mathematical concepts become more challenging as students work with decimals, multiplication and division of three-digit numbers, metric system, fractions, percentages, geometry, and problem solving.  Math terminology is stressed to fully understand how to implement math strategies.  The math curriculum uses interactive teaching methods and materials to help young students understand the mathematical concepts.  It has consistent, cumulative review of the concepts taught and encourages memorization of math facts.  The practical application of math skills is evident through critical thinking, decision making, and problem solving skills in real life situations.
Overall, fifth grade is an exciting year of growing opportunities.  The accumulation of all the above studies makes for a stimulating environment for your child’s final year of elementary school.

6th Grade

Middle school is designed to meet the needs of students in the sixth through eighth grade. A team of teachers works with all students and gets to know each one personally. The curriculum is hands-on and connected by multi-subject projects. Sports, activities, Student Council, Achievement Hour, and Missions Projects help make this phase of school an exciting and positive experience.
